Chaplain’s Message

 

Guest Speaker in attendance- Eagle Scout Gianluca DeMary from our local Salisbury Troop #443 St. John’s talked about the impact Scouting has made in his life and shared his story.

 

GK Report

  • Minutes from the last meeting were emailed to all members, can I get a motion to approve.
  • Thank you to all the Knights that came out to Sister Mary Roberts on Saturday February 15th
  • Thank you to the Knights who assisted with Tables for First Communion Retreat last Friday.
  • Thank you to the Knights are assisting selling Tickets for Saint Patrick’s Day ( on March 15th)
  • We ordered the sponsorship Flag for the School, and it should be up in the gym if not soon.
  • Fish Fry Committee, Fish Fry Dates are March 7th, March 28th, and April 11th.

Checking Acct Balance $ 28,597.79


Fundraising Committee –

  • Outstanding Dues Balances several members still need to take care of dues. Please take care of ASAP. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please talk to the GK. He can authorize waiving dues. Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and Chancellor to Work on list.

 

Membership Report – Len Kobylus

  • The council currently has 103 Active Members.  Len has 2 Potential Members.  Sean Flemming is a new member and needs an Exemplification.


Other Reports

Our programs as Knights of Columbus should help provide encouragement, engagement and evangelization to our parish and the community. We pray that Our Lord will accomplish His will and lead us to holiness, helping us work towards being better men and better disciples.


Program Director – Darrell Kimball

Family Director – Chris Castille

  • Family of the Month – Mike and Denise Hallett
  • Knight of the Month –  Darrell Kimball
  • Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry. Knights are needed to bag up items and help load cars. We need to support Friday 6-8 pm and Saturday morning from about 8:30-12. The next SMRM is 3/15 & 3/16.

Faith Director – Duane Krzysik

  • Holy Hour and Adoration – Knights are signed up for Holy Hour and Adoration on the First Saturday of every month from 7 am to 8 am (immediately before Mass). Next one is on Mar 1st.
  • There is a drastic need to improve attendance at Men’s Night. More announcements everywhere are needed. Father Dimock has offered to stay in town on Thursday nights. He requested we send an email to him and Father John to remind them of the event. We are watching the Series the Gospel of Work.
  • Refreshments will be served at Men’s night. Next Men’s night is Thursday February 5th in either the Art or Math Room at 6:30pm

  • Polar Plunge March 1st (Printout)  11am Registration, 12 pm Lunch, 12:30 Costume Contest, Plunge at 1pm and Awards at 1:30pm held at Salisbury Elks River Park

  • Special Olympics is looking for a Swim Coach, anyone interested please contact Len.

  • Anyone not receiving Fourth degree information that should, please see Darrell ASAP

Insurance Agent Report –  Yearly Financial Review Handout.  As a valued member of the Knight of Columbus, conducting an annual financial review ensures your plans align with your family’s needs and long term goals. 

 


DD Report – Gave Sacrament of Confirmation Schedule 2025 for Bishop Martin to Grand Knight

 

 

Unfinished Business -

New Business – 100 Club Winners for March

$300 Winner Fr John.

$150 Winner James Murphy

$50 Winner Rodney Power

Motion to Lower Dues to $25  and keep the $10 Donation brought forth by Len, Jack Youngblood seconded, and all brother Knights in attendance agreed. Will make changes next year.

Motion to Donate $500 to the Boy Scouts every year, brought forth by Len and Mike S seconded.  All brother Knights in attendance agreed.  Will add to the budget for next year and get a check made out to the Scouts.
