GK Report
• Brother Fr. Thomas Clements passed away. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Bishop Peter J. Jugis at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
• Membership dues are entering second billing. Please make provisions for payment.

Treasurer Report – Updated membership with checking account balance.
Membership Report –
The council currently has 91 Active Members. Talked with Lee Fisher about potential membership. 3 members transferred to affiliate.
Other Reports
Our programs as Knights of Columbus should help provide encouragement, engagement and evangelization to our parish and the community. We pray that Our Lord will accomplish His will and lead us to holiness, helping us work towards being better men and better disciples.
Family Director – Jay Basinger
• Family of the Month –
• Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry. Knights are needed to bag up items and help load cars. We need to support Saturday morning from about 9-12. The date can vary month to month. Great support in Dec (T. D’Mello, Mike S, Bill R and Nick S.) Next one is March 11th.
• World Marriage Day – 2/11. Knights sponsored World Marriage Day Dinner Dance event for church. Event included: High end dinner and dessert, renewal of Marriage vows, DJ and dancing. Event big success. Approx 70 couples attended. Many positive results included working with other church groups, & new member inquires.
• St. Patrick’s Day - Celebration event is 3/11. Council is assisting in event. Help is needed with cooking, bartending and clean up.
Faith Director – John Baughman
• Into the Breach – a program to deepen men’s spirituality and formation to combat the crisis of religious faith in our world. We will cover a different topic each month. Supreme has a video for each topic. The council will have booklets for reflection and discussion. The discussion will be during the social. Video and small group discussion at social to follow. The last one was March 2nd at 6:30 on Prayer. The next one is April 6th at 6:30.
• Holy Hour and Adoration – Knights are signed up for Holy Hour and Adoration on the First Saturday of every month from 7 am to 8 am (immediately before mass). Next one is on April 1st.
• Refund Support Vocational Program (RSVP) – Vocational Chairman Sal Potestivo will assist in communications and prayers for our two seminarians. The council will donate $500 each to be eligible for a refund of $200 from Supreme. Check given to Noe at Exemplification. Check mailed to Matthew. Will submit for reimbursement once checks are cashed. Will use Feb Bank Statement. Read thank you letter from Matthew.
• Fish Fry Lenten Dinners 2/24, 3/24 and 3/31. On Feb 24th 156 dinners purchased. $1666 Income from dinner and 50/50. Current expenses at $1845. Many complements on cooking. Expect to make profit after second event, due to materials at hand. 20 Knights came out to help. Preps beginning for next one and capturing lesson learned.
• Partners in Hope - Reception, Dinner, and Program. Sacred Heart will be filling a table of 8. Partners in hope is a benefit event for The Catholic Charities (Piedmont Triad Region) Diocese of Charlotte. March 30 @ 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm. The cocktail reception starts at 5:30 PM. Dinner and Program start at 6:30 PM. Benton Convention Center, 301 W 5th St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101. If you are interested in attending please contact Tom Voignier. • Lenten Breakfast - Knights to host 3/27 after 7 am mass. Duane K will need assistance.
Community Director – Duane Krzysik
• Assist Family Director with Food for Families – Support Sister Mary Roberts Ministry.
Life Director – Len Kobylus
• ASAP check presented to Life Choices Rowan.
• Walk for Life - April 22 from 9 to 11:30. Life Choices will need our support in person and financially. We will be trying to coordinate with school and church as well.
• Helped Life Choices Rowan by installing curtain rods on Mar 3rd.
• Least Among My Brethren – LAMB. Current donations are over $2100. At the end of the year, we will get checks to support Arc of Rowan County and Special Olympics. Michael Hallett is checking on additional ways to raise money for LAMB. Talked with supervisor at Belk about getting added to Belk Charity for LAMB. NEED TO SUBMIT END OF YEAR PAPERWORK AND REQUEST DONATION CHECKS.
• Special Olympics- Get our council plugged into the activities and needs of Special Olympics
Unfinished Business
• D. Morris is working on KofC Sign for shed.
• Let me know if you are interested a nametag or shirt. Nametags are $15 and Shirts are $30. They must be prepaid prior to order.
New Business
• Youth Support of Jamica Mission Trip -
• State Meeting and Electing Delegates. Convention April 28-30 in Winston Salem
• 100 Club winners for Feb – Tim Hatcher $300, Cloninger $150 and Joe Robinson $50
• Sign up for St. Patrick’s Day help
• Grill in closet to be raffled off. Raffle will take place at last two fish fries. Winner picked on 3/31.
• Election process for new officers starts next month. Let me know if you are interested in officer positions, so we can make up a slate. I will be retiring Jun 2024 at GK.
